2002年現代アートの巨匠、蔡國強氏のニューヨークプロジェクトメンバーで撮影。
主催は、ニューヨーク近代美術館(MoMA)2002年6月29日現地時間、
PM 9:30マンハッタンに夢の虹花火がかけられた。
テロの猛威の中、「動く虹」と題された花火は無事に打ち上げられた。
2003年「日本カメラ」8月号口絵にて「花火曼荼羅」を発表。
蔡國強の花火を含む。ニューヨーク・東京・京都・大阪。

Project Proposal for MOMA Moves
Transient Rainbow
Seven Iines of aquatic fireworks strung by gunpowder fuse are laid out on the
surface of the East River between the banks of Manhattan and Queens.
Each Iine carries aqualics of a color from the rainbow. The fireworks are
ignited at the same time from the Manhattan side. A transcient rainbow
of 480 feet wide and 100 feet high will momentarily connect the two banks
traveling at the speed of 100 feet per second.
Materials:
A total of 1000 3"" aquatic shells of 7 differet colore are connected
by two gunpowder fuses (to ensure propoer ignition),then placed inside
of plastic sleeves (for water proofing).An additionat rope on the outside
will make sure that the fireworks are not broken in the explosion process.
The fireworks are simultanously ignited electonically.
Installation plan:
Motor boats will lay out the firework lines across the river and secure them
to each side of the bank..In order to do this in minimum amount of time,it would
be favorable to use the tip of Rooseveit Island as indicated in the rendering above.
In this case,14boats will be needed for the operation. After the event, the ropes and
plastic sleeves attached to the ropes are collected as a part of the dean up effort.
